FISHING RIGHTS

I know there have been a lot of rumours for some time about the fishing rights on the ponds at Reddish Vale, it now looks like something is happening.

Tame Valley Area Committee Meeting

24/11/08

Monday night's meeting was successful for those of you who participated in the discussion on Fishing Rights. The committee accepted your argument that they should not approve of this proposal until the necessary consultations have taken place. One member wanted a fair deal for young anglers who now fish at a reasonable price. More importantly for us, the question of how the wildlife are to be cared for has to be addressed before the committee can consider approving the proposal. A number of assurances need to be sought by the public. You now have time to join us in asking for assurances that the wildfowl habitat will be improved whatever the outcome. The Parks and Recreation officer accepted this.

If you have any thoughts on this proposal let us know by filling in the Feedback Form below.
