TIE DYING 2008
By Mary Dutton
I am please to say that the rain stayed away this afternoon while we were down the vale tie dying. We all had a great time collecting and squashing as well as eating blackberries. we even got all the names this time so a great big thank-you Danni, Xander, Laura, Lizzie, Isobel, William, Amy, Christian, Christine, Natalie, Daniel, Imogen, Oscar, Amy and last but definitely not least Jonathon. Oh please forgive me if I have forgotten to mention anyone.
You can tell from the pictures just how hard we all worked, well when I say work I really mean making a right old slushy mess but hey what fun it was. After collecting and mashing the blackberries we spent time tying our calico tight with elastic bands, before putting them in the blackberries. Plastic gloves were provided but a lot of us quickly discarded them so we could get really stuck into the job in hand. As you can see from the photos (thanks for those Phil ) We ended up with some really wonderful patterns. Tie Dying is a great way to get that completely individual look with every pattern being unique. We had circles sunrises sunsets and just some fantastic creations every one went home with there particular work of art. If the children and parents etc. enjoyed it half as much as I did then they all went away happy if a bit pink handed. So once again thanks you all for making today the fun it was. Hope to see you all again soon.
